Puerto España, Trinidad y Tobago, Septiembre 2020.- El Embajador dominicano en la isla caribeña de Trinidad y Tobago exhortó a empresas dominicanas participar este año de manera virtual, dadas las condiciones de la pandemia de la Covid-19, en la Convención de Comercio e Inversión (TIC, por sus siglas en inglés), que cada año organizan la Asociación de Manufactureros y el Ministerio de Comercio e Industria de Trinidad y Tobago.
Desde el 2009 en adelante, la Embajada dominicana en Trinidad y Tobago se ha preocupado por ensanchar los negocios entre ese país del Caribe de habla inglesa y la República Dominicana.
En efecto, desde entonces cada año vienen a participar a la TIC entre diez y veinte empresas, de las que muchas han logrado desarrollar algún tipo de intercambio de forma pasajera y otras han podido establecer nexos permanentes, expresó el diplomático dominicano
“Durante 11 años continuos, la Embajada, en coordinación con la Cancillería dominicana, el CEI-RD, el Ministerio de Industria y Comercio, y el Ministerio de Turismo, y con la Asociación Dominicana de Exportadores (Adoexpo) y la Asociación de Comerciantes e Industriales de Santiago (Acis), y cámaras de comercio, ha hecho posible que la República Dominicana participe con un importante pabellón en la más amplia actividad comercial y de inversión que se efectúa en el Caribe de habla inglesa”, indicó.
En este evento participan por lo regular más de cuatro mil empresas, entre vendedoras y compradoras, así como decenas de inversionistas, no sólo del Caribe, sino de distintas latitudes.
Estos tiempos del nuevo coronavirus han obligado a los organizadores a realizar el evento de manera virtual, completamente gratis.
Esta “Feria Internacional Multisectorial, TIC-2020”, habrá de realizarse del 28 al 30 de octubre del presente año. Debido a su carácter virtual, las empresas dominicanas podrán formar parte de la misma sin costo alguno, pudiendo exhibir sus productos y realizar los intercambios necesarios con empresas de Trinidad y Tobago y de otros países.
Trinidad y Tobago se ha constituido desde la década de 1990 en el mercado más dinámico y en el centro financiero del Caribe de habla inglesa.
A través de esta participación virtual, la empresa dominicana podrá descubrir una importante gama de productos de la región y del mundo, así como penetrar en nuevas ideas de negocios y tener acceso a nuevos suplidores y contactos, informó el Embajador Dr. José Serulle Ramia, quien es además Representante Permanente de la República Dominicana ante la Asociación de Estados del Caribe (AEC).
Será una ocasión para que los negocios dominicanos interesados en incrementar su oferta de exportación o de importación cuenten con una mayor gama de productos y servicios, de alta calidad y a precios competitivos, B2B y rondas de negocios virtuales entre otros.
La Embajada dominicana está desplegando con su personal toda una estrategia para garantizar la más amplia participación de las empresas dominicanas. Esto, en estrecha relación con la Cancillería dominicana y el CEI-RD, así como con ADOEXPO y la ACIS.
“Estos tiempos del nuevo coronavirus han sido muy difíciles para las empresas en el mundo, en especial para las pequeñas y medianas, por lo que este tipo de evento abre compuertas que dan vuelo a la creatividad y a la expansión en época de crisis”, afirmó el Embajador José Serulle Ramia. Y agregó: “Las empresas dominicanas, agro-exportadoras y manufactureras han logrado en las últimas tres décadas ensanchar su oferta exportable y una variedad de productos que colocan a la República Dominicana en una posición privilegiada en toda la región del Caribe”.
La Embajada dominicana en Trinidad y Tobago llama, pues, a la empresa dominicana a participar en esta plataforma sencilla de acceso en línea, donde estarán participando exhibidores de más de 35 países con productos de sectores múltiples, compradores, importadores, exportadores, mayoristas, distribuidores, consumidores e inversionistas. Se trata de negocios no solo a nivel del Caribe, sino también en el plano global, en particular con los países de América Latina.
